Design Question

8 posts in this topic

Hello,

I'm planning on purchasing Happy Halloween, Easter, and a summer skin soon. However, all of them have category headers where certain images and vectors are on the category header. I'd like to do that with my default skin so that it matches with the other three skins I want to buy. How was this achieved? Is it just an image using this type of CSS that allows three images, or is there extra code?

Thanks! :D

3 images:

<div class='catheadmid'><div class='catheadleft'><div class='catheadright'>

in the boardIndexTemplate

and defined in the ipb_styles.css:

.catheadmid {

background: url({style_images_url}/cathead_mid.png) repeat-x bottom left;

display: inline;

float:left;

width:100%;

height: 102px;

margin: 0px;

padding: 0px;

text-align: left;

border-bottom: 0px;

margin-bottom: 0px !important;

}

etc :)

They are when you buy a skin from here but not in the IP.Board skin :)

Oh. How would you accomplish this without that?

Hire a skinner LOL

or

buy a skin and study the code and think "oh, that's how they did that" and then try yourself. It's what I do :) I do have a test board installed though so I can break it as many times as I like before putting something on my live forum.

Your Invision license allows you to have a test board so long as it's offline and registrations are closed.
